Nine students are enrolled in RCA’s state approved K-4 program. Teachers Cindy Melton and Deborah West are excited to be in the newly remodeled self-contained classroom. Some of the activities students have done already this year involve learning five senses, colors, and numbers. Academics include the start of cursive writing and learning two-letter phonics.
Currently the students are doing a unit on Children of the World. For instance, they learned the climate, people, and animals of Africa and made African masks. They are spending one day on each culture. Israel, Japan, Mexico, and the Eskimos are the other cultures they will explore. The children also enjoy playing on the new fenced, private playground. |
